Getting to Avignon

Plane

The closest major international airport is Marseille Provence Airport (MRS); which is approximately 1 hour from Avignon via bus connection. See Ouibus website, or Airport Bus Information

Having said that, for intenational arrivals, it may be easier and quicker to fly to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and then get the direct high-speed train (TGV) directly to Avignon-TGV (see below).

Train

Avignon is on the high-speed TGV network (see map below), directly connected to Lyon, Paris, Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, Montpellier (and indirectly to other cities). It is also possible to book multi-part train tickets directly from other large European cities. See SNCF Train Information
