One-day pre-conference fieldtrips: Sunday 28th August (back in time for the icebreaker!):

- Sainte-Victoire mountain with a tour in the the natural park, beautiful views of the montain, and dinosaur eggshell collecting. Limited to 30 persons.
We will leave early (7:00) in the morning with a bus. The journey will last roughly 1:30h. It will be very warm, with limited shade, and walking on a rugged path. Do not sign up if you might encounter difficulties with walking under a hot sun!. We recommend to have at least hiking shoes, a hat, and sunscreen.
You will meed to bring your own picnic and ample water. The tour will end with the picnic from 12:30 to 13:30. Leave at 14:00 to be back to Avignon before 16:00.

- Palais des Papes tour. A tour in the Palais des Papes in Avignon, where the conference will be held. Limited to 16 persons.

Two-day post-meeting fieldtrip: REGISTRATION CLOSED

Friday and Saturday 2-3rd September in the Luberon National Park (Vaucluse departement) including sightseeing, places of historical interest, and paleontological and stratigraphic outcrops. Limited to 24 persons.


Departure on Friday at around 8:00 am by minibus. Return to Avignon on Saturday around 18:00 pm.


We will visit Roussillon, an Aptian historical stratotype, mammal trace fossils outcrop, urgonian carbonate platform with a view on the Colorado Provençal, Buoux fort and (possibly) Miocene lake deposits.

We will stay at the Auberge Des Seguins in Buoux. Rooms will be shared, with  a mix of 2-person, 3-person, and dormitory (10-bed) rooms.

We recommend that you have at least hiking shoes, a hat, and sunscreen. Visits of Roussillon and Buoux fort will require walking under a hot sun with limited shade.
For the first day, participants will need to bring their own picnic. Dinner will be at the Auberge Des Seguins and the second day breakfast and picnic lunch will be provided.
